SKUNKS

Skunks are furry animals with black and white stripes.

They are about the size of a house cat. Skunks live in many places in the wilderness, the country, and the city.

They are nocturnal, which

means they sleep during the day and are awake at night.

They make homes called “dens” that are lined with leaves. Skunks eat things like fruit, small birds, plants, and insects.

They have to stay away from predators like owls. Skunks spray their enemies to protect themselves.

They can spray things up to 12 feet away. Their spray is very stinky!
